Secuware Joins Microsoft SecureIT Alliance
Secuware Security Framework Extends Windows Enterprise Security

Sunnyvale, Calif. – March 13, 2007 – Secuware, a leading provider of Windows® infrastructure security, today announced it has joined Microsoft and other security technology industry leaders in becoming a member of the SecureIT Alliance. The Alliance (www.secureitalliance.org) is a collaborative effort led by Microsoft Corp. to promote increased interoperability between enterprise security products to produce improved customer-driven and innovative security solutions. Secuware

Security Framework (SSF), now at version 4.0, helps to enhance the stability, security and manageability of Windows networks by permitting only authorized individuals using authorized applications on authorized devices to access authorized data.

“We are delighted that Secuware has joined the SecureIT Alliance,” said Gerry Albert, group manager for the SecureIT Alliance at Microsoft Corporation. “The SecureIT Alliance and the participation of key infrastructure developers like Secuware represent an important move toward addressing robust yet transparent information security for both users and administrators.” SSF 4.0 provides a flexible architecture that allows enterprises to extend the scope of protection as they evolve. SSF comprises four integrated modules that control access to information, access to devices, and integrity of executables, and deliver event logs and audit trails. Enterprises can select the modules that provide the capabilities required today, knowing that they can easily add others as their systems and user behaviors change.

SSF offers a robust, stable solution through:

  • Applying 256-bit encryption to all designated data, applications, and devices
  • Tight integration with Windows, directly updating the Active Directory schema
  • Preventing users from connecting to unauthorized hardware devices such as USB drives
  • Limiting the action that may be taken with protected information, such as screen capture or hard-copy printing
  • Logging of system security events to maintain an audit trail for compliance reporting
  • Strengthening internal security by separating IT and information security controls

“Enabling users to work productively and securely, while managing the myriad devices and applications that interface with today’s corporate networks, is a continuing challenge for IT management,” said Feliciano Rivera, executive vice president and general manager of Secuware. “We welcome the opportunity to work with Microsoft and other security leaders in this initiative.”
